VP of Financial Planning & Analysis

This client bank is an organization we have been tracking for several years.  They have an impressive business model and this role is open due to continued growth, so it is a newly-created role.  Instead of coming in and fixing something that is broken, you will be given a largely blank slate from the bank’s finance leadership to aggregate all of these iterant duties currently being done by other talented people within the bank and you will drive distillation into one key role for the bank. 

You will develop/ enhance budgeting, forecasting, profitability, and set up repeatable processes and reporting specific to overall management reporting and dashboarding.  You will help in developing the key profitability metrics and targets to support the client bank’s targeted growth.   Being communicative in this role is key and being able to articulate and deliver insightful, relevant analysis of bank financial data and business results (income statement, balance sheet, capital, revenues, expenses, yields) both in written form and verbally, will help the bank determine present and future financial performance.

There is an appetite for more robust reporting within the bank, so your presence will be welcomed and you will be looked to build a bridge across business lines.  Senior leadership is in strong support of this role, so you will be looked at as a strategic business partner, not a necessary evil.  Pro forma, ad hoc reporting, variance analysis, you will do it all.  The bank also has a budget for a new software in 2022, so you will have a say in what technology is implemented and you will have a hand in the implementation, likely as the project lead with external consultants.

We are looking for someone with ten plus years of banking experience specific to budgeting, forecasting, and technology.   Ideally, our client would love a plug and play, but if you are that right individual and this role is the next clear growth step for you professionally, they would certainly consider your candidacy.  An MBA or CPA or CFA is a requirement.  We don’t foresee our client deviating from that expectation, although anything is possible.   Lastly, the bank is Downtown Denver.  Although they are ‘back to office’ they may have some flexibility 4/1 or 3/2 relative to being in the office or working from him.
