If you are a Tax professional with eight to ten years of progressive tax expertise in a corporate environment, we may have a great opportunity for you.   Our firm is one of the top executive search firms in the financial services vertical specific to accounting and finance.  We specialize in CFO, Controller, Treasurer, and Corporate Finance roles as well as Tax in Financial Institutions all over the country. This Super Community Bank client is looking to hire that right blend of technical, strategic, and great interpersonal skills tom complete there ongoing internal succession plan. 

 

In this key role, you will have the luxury of working with the current Director of Tax that will show you the ropes and help you work through all of the complexities of the organization.  You will ultimately be responsible for tax planning, preparation and analysis, including federal and state income taxes, as well as intangible and sales taxes.   Being responsible for cost expenditure review and analysis is a key component of this role as well.

 

What we are looking for:

Key requirements of the role include directing the preparation and use of all tax records and use of all tax records and information as required for proper completion of municipal, state and federal tax returns.   You will ensure the maintenance of proper records of all transactions of income, principal and related information to establish proper tax classifications as well as recommend and oversee implementation of adaptation and revision to the existing tax accounting system.

 

You will also oversee the research and analysis of proposed and existing business transactions to determine the effect upon taxes and serve as the primary contact with the IRS and Department of Revenue liaisons assigned to audit and examine the institution.    Training and development is important as well, as you will ensure that operations and sales staff personnel are informed of current tax laws, regulations and rulings pertaining to municipal, state and federal income taxes.

 

To be considered:

Our client is looking for eight to ten years or more experience preferred or equivalent experience in a related field, preferably in financial services, but will consider other industries as well.  You must have prior accounting/tax and supervisory experience as well as a Bachelor’s Degree with a focus on accounting/tax with a CPA accreditation, or one in process.
